October Fest 2011

This was our first time going to the October Fest up by us.  It was pretty good but a little pricey.  So we were sitting at a table with Werner, Clare, Jen (Clare's friend), Jen and I eating and drinking what you normally do and they started to play a game.  There was a woman walking around passing a rubber chicken to all the women like hot potato.  When the music stopped, that woman would have to go to the stage and compete in a yodeling contest.  It was funny because most of them had more than enough to drink.

Next thing you know it, my Jen quickly whispered to me, "ignore the lady!!" I wasn't really sure what she was talking about until the same lady came by passing the chicken now to men.  So two guys passed it to me and I quickly got up to pass it to the next guy but the music stopped abruptly.  Then I hear a bunch of laughs and I looked around finding out it was about me.

Everything after that was a blur but this is what happened...

Don't laugh too hard... OK!!!

Aruba Vacation 2011

What a memorable vacation.  On August 20th, 2011 I proposed to my future wife Jen.  A moment I will never forget.  It was perfect!!

This was also the first time our kids go to Aruba and it was a hit!!!  Aruba is such a beautiful place with white sand beaches and blue crystal clear water.  The sun was hot, not that windy and the weather was great.

We stood at the Marriott Surf Club.  They had a lazy river, slide and a few jacuzzis.  This place was great... relax, relax... relax.

We had an ocean front view on the 11th floor.  One day while I was out there enjoying the view I noticed a rainbow.  This was the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen.  I was able to see the beginning and end of the rainbow.  It was amazing... see below.

Here are a few slide shows of our vacation.  I hope you enjoy them.

This was at the Ostrich Farm.  We could not stop laughing when feeding animals.

This was at the Butterfly Farm

I hope you enjoyed all of the pics.  We had a great time and plan on doing this again.

Spartan Race, Tuxedo, NY 6/5/11

Spartan Race!!!

June 5, 2011
Are you touch enough

This had to be one of the toughest things I have ever done in my life!  No kidding, I had no clue what the course consisted of or the type of terrane it was on.  All I knew was the run would be approximately 3 miles with 10 obstacles.  So I trained to run 3 miles... Boy was I wrong.

The race took place on the Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center.  Hills, hills, hills.

My heat was at 10am on Sunday June 5, 2011.  The heats ran every 30 minutes from 8am to 2pm. It was packed and a lot of fun.

The beginning to the end.

What I looked like before the race.  Still have no clue what is about to happen.

It's almost time.

Still excited and nervous.

This was the beginning to my race.  This first hill was a wake up call.  I was not prepared!!
Watch till the end of the video... too funny

This was our first obstacle.

This was fun.  A wet soapy wall.

This is a better look of that wall.

This is the second set of 30 burpees.  See if you failed an obstacle, you had to do 30 burpees.

Talk about mud!! We had to crawl uphill in mud under barbed wire.  Before this obstacle, I have already done 3 sets of burpees.  My upper body was week and numb.  Mud was pouring down the hill in your face.  It was crazy.

Look how far we had to go.

This says it all.

The finish line.

They just couldn't make it an easy finish.

What a run!!

We did it!!

Overall, this was a great race and a wonderful experience.  I have decided to keep it up and run more of these races.  My next one is on September 24, 2011.
The Super Spartan in Staten Island, NY.  It will be a big challenge.  It's an 8 mile run with 15 obstacles.
Wish me luck!!!

Dinner at Mo's NY Steak House!

It's has been awhile since my last post but I'm back.  Tonight was a great night out with my hot date, my baby Jen. LOL

We headed out to New Rochelle, NY to Mo's NY Steak House.  I read a lot about this place and of course being a Yankee fan, I just had to try it.

Here are some pics and I hope you enjoy.

Outside in the freezing cold.

This was a picture in the hallway as soon as you get in.

A glass case of signed balls and a couple of footballs.

This was a great painting.  My picture doesn't do any justice but it was very colorful and really big.

Two of the many pictures on the walls.

Me and my Lady!!

Wine list... didn't touch it.

Kind of blurry but here is the Panama Special.  A pretty big and juicy skirt steak, side of mashed yucca and sweet plantains. It was very good and filling.  First time I had mashed yucca.  Awesome!

This is a shot of the hallway to the restroom. These were all classic pictures.

This was behind us and again more pics. The place wasn't as big as we thought but there is another room in the back past the restrooms.  Probably for parties.

It was a great experience but not for an hour drive.  The food was average. If it wasn't for the drinks our meal with appetizer would have come to about $60 which isn't bad at all.  This is really for Yankee fans.

Apple Picking "Masker's" 2010

What a beautiful day to hang out with the family and go apple picking.  We just had a horrible week with rain, strong winds and tornado watches.  Finally the sun comes out, clear skies and great temperature.

So we head to Masker Orchard's.  Glad we got there early because it got packed.  The grass dried up pretty good being that it rained for the past few days.

Apples everywhere.  It was heaven.  All I could think of was WARM APPLE PIE A LA MODE!!

Here is a slideshow of the pics we took today.  Hope you enjoy... can wait till next season!

Hanging out at the Renaissance fair again

Entering the fair.  We didn't get their early enough this time to see the skit before the gates opened.  This was my son's first time.  It was a perfect day to go.  The weather was great and it wasn't that packed.

This is the entrance.  It wasn't that packed this day so going in was a breeze.

Here are the boys.  Eli on the left and Ray to the right.  Both excited to go in.

Queen's Landing.  Used for more skits.  You can also take a boat ride that we haven't done yet.

This was cool.  This is one of the rides at the fair.  The cool part is there are no electronics.  That's how every ride was.  The worker had to either push, pull or twist the ride to make it work.

Roselawn Tournament Field.  This is where they held the Jousting tournaments.  This was the main event of the fair.  They only had a show twice a day. The bigger show was at 5:50pm and after the show the park closed. That's why it was always packed.

My honey Jen! We all were rushing to get to the 11am knife throwing show.

The two knuckle heads.  This was the Sherwood Forest Stage as you can see.  This is where they held the knife throwing show.

More to come...

In a Yankees Suite Vs Seattle

This was a great game.  Yankees blew out Seattle 10 - 0.  I'm going to be loading pictures soon but I wanted to start with this video.

Robinson Cano's Grand Slam

This really was just coincidence.  I was taking pictures all game but decided to start a video when basses were loaded.  Well... I got lucky and so did the Yankees.

Cano hit a Grand Slam on the bottom of the 5th to give the Yankees a 5 - 0 lead.

Please excuse the shaking... I got really excited and couldn't keep it still.  Have fun!

Hanging out at the Yankee game this past Sunday.  It did rain so there was an hour rain delay.  It was so worth it.  We got lucky again to get box tickets.  The food and drinks were great.

My baby and I at the game. She has been such a hard core Yankee fan lately.  I LOVE IT!!!

The cool part of the suites is the hallway that leads to all the suites.  The walls are covered with old and new pictures, large Sports Illustrated covers and plaques.  This one of the cover of the Daily News when  Jeter hits past Gehrig.

Having too much fun at the game.  There was plenty more of these empty.

Jen's favorite player... Nick Swisher

A shot from the suite.  Good angle.

Yankees win 10 - 0.  What a game!
